  5. The Palm Fixed Assets module calculates depreciation for all the fixed assets
  6. belonging to a company. It records all capital acquisitions, adjustments,
  7. disposals, and posts the relevant figures to the Palm General Ledger so the
  8. balance sheet and profit/loss accounts can be updated. In addition, maintenance
  9. and insurance costs can be held, together with comments and other relevant
  10. details. Depreciation can be calculated for each asset by either straight line,
  11. reducing balance, or life expectancy of the specified number of periods. The
  12. asset register holds dates of purchase, disposals, insurance renewal,
  13. maintenance contract costs, supplier name, project number, purchase invoice,
  14. etc. Non-capital assets can also be stored in the register. The system is
  15. supplied with standard management reports, e.g. "Assets by Location Report",
  16. "Insurance Premium Report", plus others. In addition a powerful Report
  17. Generator is included; this allows the definition of ad hoc reports.
